Damon Huffman's Last Second Shot Lifts Brown Over Army, 79-78

West Point, New York - Senior Damon Huffman scored on a 10-foot jump shot with 1.7 seconds remaining to lift Brown to a 79-78 come-from-behind win over Army. Huffman finished with 23 points, including Brown's last five points of the game, as the Bears overcame a four-point deficit with 21 seconds left to play.
The win lifts the Bears to 7-5 overall, while Army drops to 6-6.
Brown trailed, 78-74, with 21 seconds left in the game following two free throws by Army's Kenny Brewer. Huffman took over the game, first scoring on a three-point play with 15.2 seconds remaining to bring the Bears to within one point, 78-77..
Following a missed one-and-one opportunity by the Cadets, Brown called time-out with 8.2 seconds remaining. Huffman took the in-bounds pass in the backcourt, drove to his right and pulled up from 10-feet for the game winning shot that swished through the hoop with less than two seconds left.
The 23-points by Huffman also moved him into a tie for 17th place in Brown career scoring with 1,031 career points, tied with Eric Blackiston (1992-1996).
Huffman's last second heroics overshadowed the performance of Army Jarell Brown, who poured in 32 points, including 9 of 14 shooting from behind the three-point arc.
Jarrell Brown put on a first half shooting clinic and lifted the Cadets to a 38-37 halftime advantage. He connected on 6 of 8 shots from three-point range on his way to scoring 21 first half points, accounting for 55-percent of the Cadets' points. The Bears stayed close in the half with the help Huffman, who scored tossed in 12 points on 3 of 4 shooting from behind the three-point arc.
Huffman's 23 points came on6 of 9 shooting from the field, including 4 of 7 from behind the three-point arc and 7 of 8 from the free throw line. Junior Chris Skrelja tossed in 15 points, while handing out eight assists.
In addition to Jarell Brown's game-high 32 points, Chris Walker added 14 points for the Black Knights.
