PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Chris Woodruff scored 33 points and Brown's Jason Forte missed the potential game-tying free throw with no time left in overtime Wednesday as Army beat Brown 93-92.
Army (6-5) erased an 18-point first-half deficit and forced Brown into overtime when Chris Spatola hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer in regulation.
Woodruff had 33 points for Army, and Earl Hunt had 33 for Brown (7-4).
With Army leading 93-91, Woodruff missed two free throws with 19 seconds left in overtime. On the following possession, Forte, shooting a running one-hander, was fouled as time expired.
As the teams cleared the floor, Forte hit his first free throw but missed the second, giving Army the win.
Brown used a 14-6 run to go ahead 41-23 lead with 4:06 left in the first half, but the Black Knights closed the gap to 47-36 at halftime.
Trailing 74-64 with 5:27 remaining, Army ran off 10 straight to tie the game.
Brown held a six-point lead with 27 seconds left, before a layup and foul shot by Woodruff, followed by Spatola's 3-pointer, forced overtime.
