Chris Sparks joins the Brown basketball staff for his first season after working as an assistant coach at Rhode Island College and the University of New England. Sparks will have on-court coaching duties for the Bears and will be in charge of film exchange.

A 1995 graduate of the University of Southern Maine, Sparks was a three-year player while earning a BA in history. Prior to coming to Southern Maine, Sparks attended Wilbraham & Monson Academy (MA) for three years.

Sparks coached at Rhode Island College from 2002-2003, helping with practice and game coaching duties, opponent scouting, and fundraising. He was also the recruiting coordinator for the Anchormen.

He also worked at the University of New England for three years, from 1999-2002, and was involved in all aspects of the program.

Sparks has been the site coordinator for the Eastern Invitational and Hoop Mountain Basketball Camps, and has coached at Five-Star, Jam Fest, and Glen Miller basketball camps.

A native of Springfield, MA, Sparks currently resides in West Warwick Rhode Island.
