Matt Mullery Selected All-Ivy In Men’s Basketball

Brown senior center Matt Mullery (Millstone, NJ), Brown’s 16th all-time career leading scorer, has earned All-Ivy honors for the second consecutive season, being selected second team All-Ivy in a vote of the eight Ancient Eight head basketball coaches.

Columbia Topples Brown, 65-56, In Season’s Final Game
Senior Niko Scott scored a game high 22 points to lead Columbia to a Ivy League win over Brown in the final game of the season for both teams. Junior Garrett Leffelman led the Bears with a career high 20 points on 7 of 15 shooting from the field and 4 of 9 shooting from behind the three-point arc, while senior Matt Mullery added 19 points.

Cornell Tops Brown, 95-76, Gains NCAA Tournament Bid
Cornell connected on an Ivy League record 20 treys to capture the Ivy league Championship and become the first team in the country to punch its ticket into the NCAA Tournament with a 95-76 victory over Brown at the Pizzitola Sports Center. The win lifts the Big Red to 26-4 overall and 12-1 in the Ivy League, while Brown falls to 11-19, 5-8 in Ivy play.

Brown Wraps-Up 2009-2010 Season At Home vs. Cornell and Columbia
Brown will wrap-up its 2009-2010 season at home this weekend, hosting first place Cornell and Columbia at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Friday and Saturday, March 5 & 6. The Bears, winners of four of its last six games, will look to fend off Cornell’s (25-4, 11-1 Ivy) bid to be the first team to qualify for the NCAA Tournament. Brown seniors Steve Gruber and Matt Mullery will wrap-up their collegiate playing careers on Saturday, and will be honored in ceremonies prior to the Bears’ game against Columbia (10-16, 4-8 Ivy).
