Sean Tabb, the former head coach at Trinity College and assistant coach at Brown, has been named an assistant men's basketball coach at Brown in an announcement made by Bears’ head coach Mike Martin.


Tabb begins his second tenure with the Brown team, having worked as an assistant coach in 2010-2011. A standout recruiter, he was responsible for the recruitment of current Brown junior Rafael Maia, who led the Ivy League in rebounding last season.


"Our program is very fortunate to have replaced one outstanding assistant coach in Kevin Snyder with another in Sean Tabb, said Martin.  “Sean is a familiar name to those around our program and I am thrilled to have him back at Brown.  He brings great experience, energy, and basketball acumen to our staff.  He is an excellent addition and we will all benefit greatly from Sean being at Brown.”


Tabb led Trinity to the NESCAC Championship Tournament in each of his two seasons as interim head coach at Hartford, from 2009-2011. He was an assistant coach at Trinity for nine years prior to the 2008-09 season,


A 1999 graduate of the University of Hartford, Tabb earned a bachelor's degree in education, and was a standout on the basketball team, being named team captain in his senior season.  He went on to earn a master's degree in sports leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.


A Connecticut native, Tabb is one of the few male players in Connecticut State history to have scored 2,000 points during his high school career, starring at Somers High School.
