Brown senior forward Steven Spieth (Dallas, TX) has been named to the 2016-17 All-Ivy Men's Basketball First Team as selected by the eight Ancient Eight head basketball coaches.

Spieth is the 19th Brown player in Brown history to be selected to the All-Ivy First Team and the first since Sean McGonagill in 2014.

Spieth was the Ivy League's leading scorer with 19.5 points per game in league games. He paced the Bears and ranked third in the Ivy League in overall scoring with 17.3 points per game. Spieth also ranked third in the league in steals (1.4 spg), seventh in rebounding (6.0 rpg) and seventh in steals (3.3 apg). He shot 88-percent from the free throw line, third best in the league, and second in the Brown single season record book.

An Academic All-American, Spieth completed his career as Brown's fifth all-time career scorer with 1,367 points. His 117 career starts are the most ever at Brown and second in the Ivy record book, while his 118 games played are first at Brown and rank 11th in Ivy League history.

He is fifth all-time at Brown with 136 career steals, eighth in career assists (337), and his 447 career free throws are fourth in the Brown record book. Spieth also shot .848 from the free throw line throughout his career, third best in Brown basketball history.

Spieth scored in double figures in 25 of Brown's 30 games, scoring 20 or more points 14 times, including a career high 33 points against Yale and 31 points vs. Cornell. He just missed a triple-double against Niagara with 27 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. His 162 free throws made this season are sixth in the Brown record book.
