Dartmouth’s Rebounding Advantage Leads To 87-70 Win Over Brown

Hanover, New Hampshire - Freshman Evan Boudreaux registered a double-double for the eighth time, scoring 27 points and grabbing 13 rebounds to lead Dartmouth to an 87-70 Ivy League win over Brown at Leede Arena.

 

The Bears fall to 7-15, 2-6 in Ivy play, while Dartmouth improves to 8-14, 2-6 in the Ivy League.

 

Dartmouth out-rebounded the Bears by a 43-21 margin, including a 17-3 advantage on the offensive boards.

 

Senior guard Tavon Blackmon (Upper Marlboro, MD) paced the Bears with 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field. Bears' senior forward Cedric Kuakumensah (Worcester, MA) had 15 points, five rebounds and six blocked shots, one short of his own school record for blocks.

 

Freshman guard Obi Okolie (Ajax, Ontario) scored in double figures for the second straight game, scoring 16 points for the Bears.

 

A seven-time Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the Big Green, Boaudreaux connected on 10-of-17 field goals and 6-of-7 free throws in scoring 27 points.

 

Tayler Johnson turned in a strong performance for the Big Green with 22 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field. Miles Wright chipped in with 15 points for the Big Green.

 

Dartmouth jumped to an early 12-point lead in the opening seven minutes, 17-5, following a trey by Connor Boehm.

 

After Brown cut the Big Green lead to three points with a 9-0 run, 17-14, following a lay-up by sophomore Patrick Triplett (St. Louis, MO), Dartmouth countered with an 11-0 run to pull ahead by a 28-14 margin with five minutes left in the half.

 

The Big Green held a 38-28 lead at the half and extended their lead to 17 points, 58-41, on a trey by Johnson with 13:18 left in the game.

 

The Bears will travel to Philadelphia on Friday, February 19 to battle Penn at the Palestra, starting at 7:00 pm, and conclude the weekend in Princeton, New Jersey on Saturday, February 20 against Princeton at Jadwin, Gym, with tip-off at 6:00 pm.
