Providence, R.I. - Brown freshman forward Leland King (Inglewood, CA) was named the Ivy League's Rookie of the Week for the second time this season for his play in games against Princeton and Penn. Brown first-year players have been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week a school record eight times in 2013-2014.
King stepped up his game for the Bears, providing some key offensive support off the bench against the Tigers, netting 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field with five rebounds in 20 minutes of action. He came back with six points and two rebounds in Brown's victory over Penn.
King is averaging 7.3 points per game, while his 4.4 rebounds per game ranks 17th in the Ivy League.
Brown launches a four game road trip, starting with Columbia on Friday, February 21 in New York City, at 7pm, followed by a nationally televised game (NBC Sports) against Cornell on Saturday, February 22 in Ithaca, NY, starting at 8 pm.
