Sean McGonagill Named To All-Ivy Men’s Basketball Team

 Providence, RI - Brown sophomore guard Sean McGonagill (Brookfield, IL), who set a single season Brown assist record, has been named to the 2012 All-Ivy Men's Basketball Team, earning second team honors, in a vote of the Ancient Eight basketball coaches.

 

McGonagill, the 2011 Ivy League Rookie of the Year, led the Ivy League in assists with 5.4 per game, which ranked 34th nationally.  He handed out 157 assists to set a new Brown record, breaking the previous mark of 155 assists by Jason Forte in 2002-2003.

 

The Ivy League's fifth leading scorer, McGonagill averaged 13.5 points per game for the Bears. He scored a season high 30 points against Longwood by connecting on 6 of 10 treys. McGonagill also scored 28 points in Brown's win over Columbia, connecting on 8 of 11 field goals, and just missing a triple-double by adding eight rebounds and eight assists. He also netted 27 points and handed out 11 assists in a win over Central Connecticut.
