Providence, Rhode Island - Brown University junior co-captain Matt Sullivan (Wilmette, IL) has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. His name will now be placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
Sullivan has started 19 of 21 games for the Bears and 54 games in three years at Brown. He is averaging 8.2 points per game, including 9.5 ppg in Ivy League games. Sullivan registered 19 of his career high 26 points in the second half vs. Albany in the NIT Season Tip-Off at the Carrier Dome, connecting on 8 of 18 field goals, including 5 of 9 from behind the three-point arc.
Sullivan stepped up his play in the Ivy opener against Yale with 16 points on 5 of 10 shooting from the field, including 3 of 7 from behind the three-point arc.
An Economics concentrator, Sullivan has posted a 4.0 grade point average.
Sullivan and his Brown teammates will take on Princeton this evening, hosting the Tigers at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
