Bears To Battle Golden Gophers
Head coach Jesse Agel's Brown men's basketball team will ramp-up
its non-league schedule this week, traveling to Minneapolis to face
the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday, December 5 in a 2:30 p.m.
(CST) matinee match-up at Williams Arena. Listen to all the

and Russ Tyler '71 providing the color commentary.
Brown (4-5) fell in overtime to Holy Cross, 85-79, on Wednesday,
despite a career high 28 points by junior forward Peter Sullivan,
who connected on 7 of 13 field goals and 12 of 12 free throws.
Sullivan is the Ivy League’s sixth leading scorer with 14.4
points per game
Minnesota (4-3) dropped from the Top 20 rankings this week, after
winning its first four games and dropping consecutive games to
Portland, Texas A&M and Miami (63-58).
Senior center and tri-captain Matt Mullery who netted 21 points
vs. Holy Cross on Wednesday, is Brown’s leading scorer with
17.2 points per game, fourth best in the Ivy League, while his 2.0
blocked shots per game and 64-percent shooting (61 of 96) leads the
league. Mullery is Brown’s all-time leader in blocked shots
with 133 career blocks.
Brown’s freshman class continues to contribute. Freshman
guard Matt Sullivan, last week’s Ivy Rookie of the Week,
netted nine points against Holy Cross. Freshman forward Andrew
McCarthy scored just five points against Holy Cross, but grabbed 10
rebounds and blocked four shots against the Crusaders. Freshman
forward Tucker Halpern chipped in with nine points, four assists
and four rebounds.
