Providence, Rhode Island - Brown freshman guard Matt Sullivan
(Wilmette, IL) was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for his
play in helping Brown to wins in two of three games against Bryant,
the University of the Sciences and Siena.
Sullivan has started all eight games for the Bears and enjoyed a strong week, averaging 10.3 points for the Bears. He tossed in 12 points in a win over Bryant, connecting on 3 of 7 treys. He then added 11 points in Brown’s victory over the University of the Sciences in the Philly Hoop Group Classic, knocking down 3 of 3 treys, while handing out a career best seven assists. He finished the week with eight points and six assists against Siena in the final game of the Philly Hoop Group Classic.
Sullivan is Brown’s assist leader with 22 for the season, while he is the Bears’ third leading scorer, averaging 8.6 points per game for the Bears. His 16 treys are second on the Brown team.
Sullivan and the Bears will be back in action again on Wednesday, December 2 at home against Holy Cross. Game time is 7:30 pm at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
