
Queens, NY - Brown returns to the hardwood tonight at 7:00 p.m.
to face St. John’s at Carnesecca Arena in the second game of
the Philly Hoop Group Classic. Brown (1-2), coming off a home loss
to URI, is in the midst of playing 11 games in 22 days. St.
John’s, the only Big East team with five returning starters,
opened its season with wins over LIU and St. Bonaventure.
Brown (1-2) dropped a 78-57 decision to Rhode Island (URI)
Wednesday evening at the Pizzitola Sports Center. Bears’
junior forward Peter Sullivan tossed in a team high 15 points,
while senior center Matt Mullery had a double-double with 10 points
and 11 rebounds.
Brown is in the midst of playing 11 games in 22 days, rivaling most
NBA teams. The Bears opened last Friday (11/13) at St. Francis-NY,
played at Virginia Tech on Sunday (11/15), hosted URI on Wednesday
(11/18), play at St. John’s (11/20), host Maine on Sunday
(11/22), play at Bryant (11/25), play in Philadelphia against
University of the Sciences (11/27) and Siena (11/28), host Holy
Cross (12/2), play at Minnesota (12/5), and at Providence
(12/7).
Brown is scheduled to play four games in the Philly Hoop Group
Classic, including Friday’s game against St. John’s.
The Bears opened at Virginia Tech on November 15, and will play two
games at the Palestra, against University of the Sciences on
November 27, and Siena on November 28.
Brown and St. John’s have met just once before, on 11/26/76,
with the Red Storm coming away with a 79-65 decision.
