Providence, RI - Head Coach Marek Drabinski has announced the Brown baseball schedule for the 2005 season. The Bears will open up the season on March 4 at the Kennel Club Classic. Brown will take on host North Florida at 7 p.m. The following week, the Bears will travel to the West Coast to take part in the Santa Clara Classic, beginning on March 11.
After a stint in the Carolinas, Brown will open up Ivy play at Cornell on April 2. The Bears will look to improve upon their 9-11 league mark from a year ago with the return of two-time First Team All-Ivy selection Matt Kutler. Kutler missed all of last season with an injury. Brown will be an experienced team with the return of 22 letterwinners, including 2004 First Team All-Ivy selections Bobby Wiginton '04 and Paul Christian `06. Eight freshmen will also join the team.
The Bears will open up the home portion of their schedule on April 9, hosting Pennsylvania in an Ivy League doubleheader. Coach Drabinski is entering his ninth year the helm of the program.
