Will Weidig Named a Texas Collegiate League All-Star

Providence, RI - Brown pitcher Will Weidig (Katy, TX) has been named an All-Star in the Texas Collegiate League. Weidig, who was the Bears' number three starter as a freshman in 2007, will play for the Tris Speaker Division in the League's All-Star Game on July 9.

In three starts for the Colleyville LoneStars this summer, Weidig has a 3-0 record with a 2.25 ERA, placing himself in second in the league in wins. In 16.0 innings pitched, he has 12 strikeouts to just 2 walks. Weidig has allowed just 15 hits, holding opponents to a .238 batting average.

In 12 appearances for the Bears this season, Weidig was 4-2 with one save and a 5.01 ERA. He made six starts, and finished in third on the team with 46.2 innings pitched.
