(Apr. 3, 2001) -- The University of Vermont Catamounts took advantage of five Brown errors, scoring seven runs in the seventh inning to break open a 2-2 game and take a 9-2 win, completing a sweep of the Bears on Tuesday, April 3.
The Catamounts came back from a 2-0 deficit to the game at two in the sixth, and then erupted for seven in the seventh, despite having only three hits. Four Brown errors and a wild pitch contributed to the UVM cause, which broke open the game on a three-run homer by Garin Clough.
The Bears squandered a solid pitching performance by John Cappello, who went 5 1/3 innings, allowing only three hits and fanning seven. He held the Cats hitless through four before yielding to Justin Lebowitz, who fell victim to Brown's struggling defense.
The Bears got two hits out of Greg Metzger, who also drove in both Brown runs. Dan Kantrovitz extended his hitting streak to ten games, going 1-3.
Brown faces Boston College in a doubleheader on Thursday, beginning at 2:00.
