Bears Drop Aggies 8-6 in 10 Innings

The Baseball team defeated the North Carolina State A&T Aggies, 8-6, in 10 innings. The Bears are now 3-11-1 as they head to High Point University for four games.
Senior Dan Spring (Washington, DC) gained the win for Brown pitching in the final three hitless innings of the game. Spring recorded three strike-outs in the eighth, ninth, and tenth. Junior Jason Priede (Tampa, FL) started for the Bears pitching in four and two thirds innings, junior Harris Frankel (Marietta, GA) relieved Priede. Frankel pitched two and a third innings.
Junior tri-captain Matt Kutler (Omaha, NE) was 4-6 with a run and two stolen bases. Freshman Eric Larson (Bradenton, FL) was 3-6 scoring two runs for the Bears. Sophomores Jeff Nichols (Medford, NJ), Cameron Mitchell (Apex, NC), and Chris Contrino (Marlboro, NJ) all recorded two hits for the Bears. Nichols was 2-4 with a double, two RBI, and a run, while Mitchell was 2-6 with a run and three RBI. Contrino was 2-2, scoring one run, driving in a run, and stealing three bases.
Brown will face High Point University on Friday, March 28, 2003 at noon in a doubleheader.
