Brown Falls to #28 Coastal Carolina

The Baseball team fell to #28 Coastal Carolina 6-1 in the first of a two game series. The Bears are now 2-10-1 overall as they continue action in their Southern Spring Break trip.

Junior Joel DeMaria (Santa Rosa, CA) pitched seven innings for the Bears, giving up five eanred runs. DeMaria also recorded three strike-outs and only one walk against the Nationally ranked squad.

Sophomore James Lowe (Asheboro, NC) was 1-1 on the day as fellow sophomores Chris Contrino (Marlboro, NJ) and Jeff Nichols (Medford, NJ) went 1-2, Nichols also added and RBI. Junior Matt Kutler (Omaha, NE) was 1-4 and scored Brown's only run.

The Bears will face Coastal Carolina for the second time today before heading to North Carolina A&T tomorrow, Thursday March 27th. Brown will then head to High Point for four games starting on the 28th.
