On the mound, freshman Mark Gormley (Milton, MA) earned his first career win in his first start, going five innings. He cruised through the first three innings, allowing just one hit and facing the minimum, before hitting a rough stretch in the fourth, allowing four runs on five hits. He allowed a pair of runs in the fifth before departing.

Brown scored once more in the third, taking a 10-0 lead with nine of the runs counting as unearned, before the Hawks finally got on the board with four in the fourth.
