Bears Fall To #6 Florida State, 12-0, In Season-Opener

Tallahassee, FL - Facing the sixth ranked team in the nation, the Brown baseball team fell 12-0 in its 2006 season opener at Florida State on Friday night. Sophomore Ryan Murphy went 3-4 at the plate with a double and a pair of singles. Junior Devin Thomas went 1-3 while junior Eric Larson went 1-4 with a double.
Junior Bryan Tews started the game on the mound for Brown as he gave up five earned runs in 3.1 innings of work. Junior Ethan Silverstein pitched 2.2 innings of relief while sophomore Peter Moskal pitched the final two innings.
Florida State remains undefeated at home this season with a 10-0 record as it improved to 12-1 with the win tonight.
Brown will square off with the Seminoles once again tomorrow at 1 p.m. for game two of the three game series.
