Matt Kirby enters his first year as an assistant baseball coach at Brown University. Kirby comes to Brown after spending one year as an assistant at his alma mater, William and Mary. While at William and Mary, he worked primarily with the catchers, outfielders and hitters. Prior to that, Kirby served as an assistant at the Virginia Military Institute for the 2004 season. Kirby graduated in 2003 from William and Mary with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology. As a catcher and pitcher for the Tribe, he batted .326 as a senior and drove in 32 runs. While he worked toward his degree, Kirby served as a student assist during the 2003 season.
