High School: A graduate of Mt. Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown, Massachusetts, where he lettered in baseball all four years... He was the captain of his team his senior year, helping the team win its fourth straight league championship... Sam was a member of the 1997 Western Massachusetts Championship team, and was named All-League all four years of high school...
