Jim Foster begins his third year as an assistant coach for the Bears. Foster also works at the Hit Dog Training Center where he works with hitting, catching, and pitching. Foster is the primary catching instructor and assists with the hitters and outfielders.

Foster had a ten-year career as a professional baseball player. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles, where he spent seven years playing at every level. After his tenure with the Orioles he was a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Anaheim Angels, and the Chicago White Sox.

Foster was a four-time All-Star as a professional, as well as a member of the Topps All-Rookie Team. He earned Baseball Weekly Minor League Catcher of the Year honors in 1997 and played in the prestigious Arizona Fall League for the Peoria Desert Dogs.

A 1993 graduate of Providence College, Foster was All-Big East as well as All-New England in both 1992 and 1993. Foster resides in Warwick, RI with his wife, Narelle, and their two daughters, Madison and Courtney.
