Baseball’s Phillips, Tomlinson Earn All-Ivy Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sophomore Parke Phillips (Venice, Fla.) of the Brown baseball team was named Second Team All-Ivy, and fellow sophomore Will Tomlinson (Irvine, Calif.) earned honorable mention honors, announced Friday in a vote by the league's eight head coaches.

Phillips collected All-Ivy accolades for the first time in his career. The catcher led the Bears with a .329 batting average, including a .375 clip in Ivy League play. Phillips put together an 18-game reached base streak during the season and posted a .482 slugging percentage in league contests.

Tomlinson started eight games for the Bears as a member of the weekend rotation. The right-handed pitcher went 3-2 overall with a 2.91 ERA and limited opposing hitters to a .186 batting average. He was named the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week on March 26 after tossing six scoreless innings against Penn and registered 29 strikeouts over the course of the season.
