Providence, RI – Brown dropped a tough contest to the University of Connecticut at Murray Stadium on Wednesday afternoon, falling 15-3 to the Huskies despite racking up 13 hits. Sophomore Mike DiBiase swung the bat particularly well, going 4-5 at the plate to pick up nearly a quarter of Brown's hits.
Connecticut came out hitting well right from the first pitch, as a three-run home run in the top of the first gave the Huskies a 3-0 lead. The visitors continued piling on, scoring at least one run in five of the first six innings to jump out to a 15-3 lead. Brown was able to tack on three runs of its own, highlighted by an RBI triple in the fourth from Ryan Zrenda (Old Lyme, CT), but couldn't keep the Huskies off the board to mount a comeback.
The Bears will be back in action on Saturday, when they travel to Cambridge for an Ivy doubleheader at Harvard beginning at 12:00 p.m.
