Brown Indoor Track and Field Tally Strong Results in Rhody Pentathalon and Harvard Invitational

The team competed at the Rhody Pentathalon on Friday December 7, where junior Kim Fogarty (Cortlandt Manor, NY) earned 3,210 points to capture first place in the competition. Sophomore Katie Rowinski (South Kingstown, RI) totaled 2,964 points, placing her 2nd overall in the pentathalon.

At the Harvard Invitational, the Brown men placed first in three events on the day. Sophomore Phil Sardis (Mission Viejo, CA) captured 1st in the 400M, with a time of 50.66. Junior Chad Buechel (Upper St. Clair, PA) finished 1st in the mile run, recording a time of 4:17.36. It was Matt Emond (Green Harbor, MA), who took the 3,000M, posting a time of 8:27.53.

On the women's side, sophomore Lauren Linder (Marietta, GA) placed 3rd in the 60 Meter Dash, recording a time of 8.00. Junior Barbara Schreck (Montville, NJ) placed 2nd in the 400 Meter Dash, posting a time of 1:00.40. In the 1 Mile Run, Junior Althea Matanock (Sante Fe, NM) posted a time of 5:44.30, which earned her a 3rd place finish in the race.
