Brown Opens Outdoor Season in Strong Style

On the women's side, seven athletes earned top-15 finishes. Leading the way was sophomore Lauren Contursi, who placed 4th in the pole vault. She measured 3.67m/ 12-00.00. Katie Rowinski placed 5th overall in the high jump (1.68m/ 5-06.00). Senior Mary Hale also earned a top ten finish, recording a time of 2:11.88 in the 800 Meter Run, which was good for 8th place overall in the event.
Angie Morey placed 11th in the 1500 Meter Run (4:35.45), while Ashley Wall and Julie Penner earned 13th place finishes in the high jump and pole vault, respectively. Wall measured 1.58m/ 5-02.50, while Penner jumped for 3.37m/11-00.75. Jill Lynch recorded a measurement of 12.40m/40-08.25 in the shot put, which was good for 20th overall.
On the men's side, Sean Thomas led the Bears, posting a measurement of 14.22m in the triple jump. That was good for 7th overall in the event. Aaron Salinger also posted a strong result for the Bears, recording a 9th place finish in the pole vault (4.55m/14-11.00). Tim Russell and Dave Glazier competed in the discus throw, finishing 19th and 20th, respectively. Russell recorded a measurement of 43.92/144-01.00, while Glazier threw for 43.82m/143-09.00.
