Brown Women's Track Competes in New England Challenge Cup

The Bears captured three 1st place finishes in the meet.

Angie Morey placed first in the Mile Run, posting a time of 1:00.41. Morey also earned second place in the 3,000M (9:56.13). Bridget Gagne earned first in the 800 Meter Run, finishing in a time of 2:17.34. Lauren Contursi placed first in the pole vault (11'06.00).

For 2nd place finishes, Ayanna Andrew placed 2nd in the 55 Meter High Hurdles. Martha Blake took the second spot in the long jump, measuring 17'09.00. Julie Penner placed second in the pole vault, behind teammate Lauren Contursi. Penner measured 11'00.00. Brown's relay team earned a second place finish in the 4X400 race, posting a time of 3:59.00.

Erin Gerrrard and Lauren Linder placed third in the Triple Jump and 200M, respectively. Gerrard posted 35'04.00, while Linder finished the race in a time of 26.25. Keely Tharp placed third in the 500M, finishing in a time of 1:18.49.

Brown returns to action on Saturday January 26, competing against Harvard and Cornell in Cambridge, MA.
