Women's Swimming Improves to 2-0

Providence, RI - The Brown women's swimming team improved to 2-0 with a convincing 208-152 victory at Dartmouth on November 18. The meet started off with Brown taking first through third place in the 200 Medley Relay and the women did not lose an event until they decided to swim exhibition.

The 200 medley relay team of freshmen Lindsay Hoban and Emily McCoy, senior Blythe Wygonik, and junior Dawn Chuck finished with a time of 1:50.67, grabbing first place. In the next event, the 400 IM, Brown also took first through third place. Junior Kelsey Hiatt finished in first place with a time of 4:30.87, nearly five seconds ahead of senior Jenn Lears, who grabbed second place.

Freshman Vanessa Beary and sophomore Suzanna Drodge went one-two in the 1650 freestyle with times of 17:23.08 and 17:38.36 respectively. The 300 Breaststroke relay team of juniors Laura Mosca and Inbal Hasbani, and junior Judy Koonstra touched the wall first, in 3:33.14, while freshman Katie Fay grabbed first in the 100 Breast in 59:94.

Brown's 200 Free relay team consisting of senior Lauren Pace, junior Tinka Dancevic, and freshmen Stephanie Peterson and Hoban took first place in 1:42.04. Freshman Jean Lee touched the wall first with a time of 2:09.47 in the 200 Fly, while Fay took first in the 200 Back in 2:08.39. The 600 Medley Relay team of Koonsra, Chuck and Dancevic grabbed first in 6:38.51, while the 400 Free Relay team of Wygonik, Drodge, Pace, and freshman Toni Pullman took first in 3:41.09.

The Bears continue action at the Princeton Invitational from December 1-December 3.
