However, Harvard went on to take first in 11 of the next 13 events, including eight of the last nine, en route to the 181-119 victory.
Junior Gary Plotz (Hutchinson, MN) and senior diver Zack Casavant (Acton, MA) were the only other first place finishers for Brown. Plotz won the 50 free in a time of :21.38, while Casavant claimed the 3M dive for the Bears with a score of 344.10.
Brown's 200 medley relay team of freshman Jeff Younger (St. Louis, MO), junior Greg Bilton (Cohasset, MA), Plotz, and freshman Aron Gyuris (Thousand Oaks, CA) took a second place finish in 1:35.04, while the 800 free relay team of freshman Jefferson Moors (Novi, MI), Miksis, Younger, and and senior Noah Cirincione (Westlake Village, CA) also finished in second place with a time of 6:54.43. Junior Jason Weber (Thousand Oaks, CA) took second place in the 100 back and Gyuris claimed second in the 200 fly, while Casavant finished in second place with a score of 332.25 on the 1M dive. Younger finished in second place in the 200 back with a time of 1:53.44, while senior Jason Kane (Basking Ridge, NJ) took second in the 200 breast with a time of 2:08.11. Plotz grabbed second place in the 100 fly with a time of :51.42, just .02 seconds behind the first place finish, while Moors claimed second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:04.93. In addition, senior Mike Johns (Springfield, VA) had a second place dive on the 3M with a score of 326.55, as Casavant and Johns had a 1-2 sweep in that event.
The Bears continue action next Saturday, February 3, when they host league rival Cornell in a 9:30 a.m. meet.
