Men's Swimming & Diving Drops 198-89 Decision To Visiting Princeton

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown men's swimming and diving team (2-1, 2-1), fell to visiting Princeton by a 198-89 margin on Sunday afternoon.

Leading the way for the Bears was senior Mike Peters (New Rochelle, NY), who grabbed first place in the 1000 free (9:25.41) and junior Jeff Miksis (Cherry Hill, NJ), who finished first in the 200 free (1:40.70). In addition, sophomore Jefferson Moors (Novi, MI) took first in the 100 back (:50.73).

Other top-three finishers for the Bears included, sophomore Aron Gyuris (Thousand Oaks, CA), who took third in the 200 fly (1:53.95), the 200 medley relay team took second (1:32.92), senior Gary Plotz (Hutchinson, MN) grabbed third in the 50 free (:21.34), freshman Timothy Wang (South Pasadena, CA) took second in the 100 free (:46.50), and Moors grabbed second in the 200 back (1:50.89).

More top-three finishers were a second (4:34.74) and third (4:37.24) place finish in the 500 free (4:34.74) by Peters and Miksis respectively, a second (:51.83) and third (:52.55) place finish in the 100 fly by senior Kevin McCann (Doylestown, PA) and freshman Matthew DelMastro (Whitby, ONT) respectively, a second place finish by Moors in the 400 IM (4:02.89), and a second (1:24.63) and third (1:26.29) place finish by two 200 free relay teams.

The Bears continue action on November 30-December 1, 2001 when they participate in the US Open in Long Island, NY.
