Brown Women's Ski Team Ranked 7th in USCSA Pre-Season Poll

Dec. 6, 2001

Teams listed in the poll consist of the schools competing in the U.S. Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association. Votes are solicited from USCSA ski coaches and Conference Directors throughout America.

Five of the top seven teams listed in the poll, including Brown, are Eastern schools, which Brown competes against on a regular basis. Coach Finocchio and her team anxiously await the start of this year's season.

The Bears are coming off an impressive 2001 season, where the team earned a trip to Nationals. Despite falls from their top seeded skiers, Brown pulled together as a team and matched their best national result, with a 7th place finish. As season-end honors were tallied, Brown skiers earned five All-Americans and one All-Ivy.

Brown will open the season on January 20 at the UMASS Carnival at Berkshire East.
