Feb. 7, 2009
PAT'S PEAK, NH - The Brown women's ski team took sixth place in the slalom race at Pat's Peak on Sunday, February 1st. Already missing two of their top skiers due to injury and illness, the Bears had a tough day, as two different skiers crashed, setting Brown back. The Bears were sixth with a 338.91 total, but still hold onto fourth place in the MacConnell Division standings with two races left on the season.
Freshman Kia Mosenthal (Plymouth, NH) once again led Brown, taking second place with a two-run time of 1:44.69. Freshman Emily Simmons (Buffalo, NY) was the second skier to count for Brown, as she finished in 31st with a two-run time of 1:55.41. Junior Elisa Handbury (Sydney, Australia), who was one of the two Bears to crash, was Brown's third skier to finish, taking 38th with a two-run time of 1:58.81.
The Bears will look to close out the regular season on a strong note next weekend when they take part in the BC Carnival.
