Mosenthal Wins Individual Title as Bears take Second at MIT Giant Slalom

LOON MOUNTAIN, NH - Freshman Kia Mosenthal (Plymouth, NH) won the individual title at the MIT Carnival Giant Slalom to lead the Bears to a second place finish, despite missing two of their top skiers with injuries. Mosenthal posted a total time of 1:46.67 to lead the field. With three races left, the Bears are still in fourth place in the season standings with a total of 27 points, five points behind second place.

The Bears also had huge finishes by freshman Emily Simmons (Buffalo, NY), who earned ninth place with a total time of 1:50.62 and senior Anna Bengtson (St. Johnsbury, VT), who tied for 15th place with a two-run time of 1:51.64. Junior Elisa Handbury (Sydney, Australia) had another solid day for Brown, posting a two-run time of 1:54.30 to finish in 31st.
