Liebowitz Selected for NCAA Career in Sports Forum

INDIANAPOLIS – Brown sophomore skier, Katie Liebowitz, has been selected for the 2014 NCAA Career in Sports Forum held in Indianapolis, Indiana from June 5-8.  200 participants were selected from a pool of over 1,100 applicants for the event held at the NCAA National Office.

The Career in Sports Forum, organized by the NCAA Leadership Development department, provides student-athletes an education on current career paths available within the sports industry, primarily focusing on intercollegiate athletics.

This year's keynote speakers include former University of Tennessee athletics director Joan Cronan, Rice University athletics director Joel Karlgaard, and WISH-TV sports anchor, Anthony Calhoun.

Liebowitz, a native of Bedford, New York, is the first Brown student-athlete to participate in the forum since women's lacrosse player, Margaret Polanin '12 attended the event in 2012.  Liebowitz appeared in five carnivals this season, recording a season-best 13th place finish in the giant slalom at Crotched Mountain on February 2.  As a freshman, she finished tied for 15th in the ECSC All-Division standings.
