Skiing Runs Winning Streak to 28 at the St. Anselm Carnival
CROTCHED MOUNTAIN, N.H. – Led by Amanda Engelhardt and Natalie Pearl, the Brown skiing team extending its MacConnell Division winning streak to 28 at the St. Anselm Carnival this weekend at Crotched Mountain.
In Saturday's slalom event, Engelhardt (Plymouth, N.H.) placed first overall with a run of 1:47.59. Her teammates followed suit as Emmy LeBlanc (Darien, Conn.), Natalie Pearl (Steamboat Springs, Colo.), and Ali Gunesch (Sandy, Ore.) placed second, third, and fourth respectively.
The Bears were a runaway winner over host St. Anselm, clocking in with a total team time of 5:23.62, 17 seconds faster than the Hawks.
In the giant slalom on Sunday, freshman Natalie Pearl captured her fifth victory of the season in the event as her run clocked in at 2:06.65. Gunesh finished third overall with another strong run of 2:07.69 while LeBlanc just behind in fourth with a mark of 2:08.14.
Brown looks to run its winning streak to 30 next weekend at the Castleton State Carnival in Bromley, Vt.
