Skiing Continues Success at the Babson Carnival

SUNAPEE, N.H. – Led by Natalie Pearl, Emma LeBlanc, and Amanda Engelhardt, the Brown skiing team extended its streak to 23 consecutive MacConnell Division victories at the Babson Carnival on Friday.


The Bears outlasted St. Anselm and Clarkson in the giant slalom, finishing with a total team time of 5:21.47.


Pearl, the freshman from Steamboat Springs, Colo., tallied her second win in the giant slalom this season as she finished with a mark of 1:45.90.  Senior Emma LeBlanc (Darien, Conn.) placed second overall with a time of 1:47.48.


Amanda Engelhardt placed fourth behind Babson's Kristen Sweeney – clocking in with a time of 1:48.09.


Senior Maria Mastanduno also competed on Friday, recording a time of 54.72 on her first and only run of the day.


The Bears will host the Brown Carnival on Saturday in Blackwater, N.H., as all MacConnell Division opponents will compete in the slalom event.
