    Winter Academic All-Ivy Announced The Ivy League released its winter list of Academic All-Ivy honorees, with 10 Brown student-athletes being recognized. The five males and five females were starters or key reserves on their respective varsity athlete teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

    Kia Mosenthal Wins Slalom at USCSA National Championships as Bears Win Slalom Team Title Senior Kia Mosenthal (Plymouth, NH) had the fastest time in the second run at 52.30 to clinch first place and take home the USCSA National Title in the slalom on Friday afternoon. Mosenthal earned a time of 53.72 in the first run, which was also good for first overall. Combined with a 12th place finish by sophomore Maria Mastanduno (Hanover, NH) and a 13th place finish by sophomore Emma LeBlanc (Darien, CT), the Bears also took the slalom Championship.

    Skiing Wins USCSA Regional Championships The Brown women’s skiing team continued its undefeated season, winning both the giant slalom and slalom at the 2012 Regional Championships to claim the USCSA Eastern Regional Championship Title. Senior Kia Mosenthal (Plymouth, NY) won the overall title, finishing fourth in the giant slalom and first in the slalom. Her younger sister, freshman Nika Mosenthal (Plymouth, NH) took second overall, winning the giant slalom and taking 8th in the slalom.

    Skiing Closes Out Regular Season With Pair of Wins Led by senior Kia Mosenthal (Plymouth, NH), the Brown skiing team closed out the regular season by winning the final two races, a slalom and giant slalom held at Crotched Mountain, NH. With the wins, Brown finished the season by winning all 10 races and finishing 15 points ahead of second place St. Anselm in the final Macconnell Division Standings. In addition, with a second place finish in the giant slalom and a win in the slalom, Mosenthal won the regular season Individual Championship, finishing with 497.5 points, 147.5 more than the second place finisher.

    Skiing Picks Up Two More Wins at Clarkson Carnival Led by sophomore Emma LeBlanc (Darien, CT), who posted a pair of second place finishes, one in the giant slalom and one in the slalom, the Brown skiing team won both races for the fourth straight week, winning the giant slalom by over 20 seconds and the slalom by nearly 14 seconds. In Saturday’s giant slalom, Brown posted a total time of 5:41.01 with six skiers in the top 11 and a seventh finishing in 17th. In Sunday’s slalom, Brown earned a total time of 5:44.15 with six skiers finishing in the top 16.

    Skiing Earns Two More Wins at Brown Carnival The Brown women’s skiing team continued its dominating start to the 2012 season by winning its fifth and sixth races in a row at its own carnival. In Friday’s giant slalom, held at Gunstock Mountain, Brown was led by sophomore Emma LeBlanc (Darien, CT), who finished second overall with a two-run time of 1:28.18. In Saturday’s slalom race, held at Blackwater Mountain, Brown was led by senior Kia Mosenthal (Plymouth, NH), who won both runs to take first overall with a two-run time of 1:32.57.

    Skiing Posts Two More Wins at UConn Carnival Led by senior Kia Mosenthal (Plymouth, NH) for the second weekend in a row, the Brown skiing team placed first in two more races, one slalom and one giant slalom, held at Jiminy Peak. Mosenthal finished first among Macconnell Division skiers in Thursday’s slalom race and was unofficially fourth among Macconnell Division skiers in Friday’s giant slalom.

    Skiing Wins First Carnival of Season with Victories in Two Slalom Races Led by senior Kia Mosenthal (Plymouth, NH), who won a slalom race on Friday and finished second on Saturday, the Brown skiing team opened its 2012 season with a pair of wins in two slalom races held at Pico Mountain, as part of the Castleton Carnival.
