Winter Academic All-Ivy Announced
The Ivy League released its winter list of Academic All-Ivy honorees, with 10 Brown student-athletes being recognized. The five males and five females were starters or key reserves on their respective varsity teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

Bears Win Slalom at Wildcat
The Brown women’s ski team picked up its third win of the 2011 season on Saturday afternoon, earning 1st place in the slalom held at Wildcat Mountain. The race ended up being the final regular season race for 2011, as Sunday’s giant slalom race was cancelled due to dangerous weather conditions at the mountain on Sunday. With the win, Brown moved into a tie for third place in the season standings with 28 points. Colby Sawyer also finished with 28 points, while BC finished with 18 and Plymouth State with 24.

Skiing Wins Slalom; Takes 4th in Giant Slalom
The Brown women’s ski team picked up its second win of the 2011 season on Saturday afternoon, earning 1st place in the slalom held at Blackwater Mountain. The win came a day after the team took fourth place in the giant slalom, held at Gunstock Mountain. With the results, the Bears hold onto fourth place in the MacConnell Division with 27 points and two more regular season races. BC still leads the Division with 16 points, while Plymouth State (21 points), Colby Sawyer (24 points), and UMass (42 points) round out the top five. Brown was led by freshman Emma Leblanc (Darien, CT), who claimed 11th in the giant slalom and third in the slalom.

Skiers Post Mixed Results at Waterville Valley
The Brown women’s ski team competed at Waterville Valley over the weekend and came away with mixed results on the weekend. The Bears won Saturday’s slalom event, as the top four skiers were all in the top 17, including three who were in the top five. In the giant slalom the next day, Brown sat in first place after the first run with its top four skiers all in the top 12. However, the Bears’ aggressive style of skiing backfired in the second run, as only one athlete, senior Krista Consiglio (Bethany, CT), finished in the top 30. Fortunately, the Bears did have four skiers finish both of their runs, as the team finished in 7th place for the day.

Bears Finish Second Carnival in 2nd Place
The Brown women’s ski team competed in its first slalom races of the season at Mt. Cranmore and came away with a second place finish on Friday and a third place finish on Saturday to tie for second overall on the weekend. With 14 points after the first two carnivals, the Bears are in fourth place, four points out of second place. The duo of senior Krista Consiglio (Bethany, CT) and junior Kia Mosenthal (Plymouth, NH) led Brown over the weekend, with Mosenthal taking third and fifth in the two races and Consiglio finishing in fourth both days.

Bears Open Season with 4th Place Finish at Mt. Sunapee
The Brown women’s ski team opened its 2011 season with a fourth place finish overall in a pair of giant slalom races at Mt. Sunapee. The Bears were fourth on Friday and fifth on Saturday, finishing the weekend with nine total points. Plymouth State (2 points) leads after winning both days, while Colby Sawyer (5 points) and Boston College (5 points) are tied for second overall. Brown was led by freshman Emma Leblanc (Darien, CT), who claimed sixth place both days.
