Carver-Milne Named Head Gymnastics Coach

PROVIDENCE, RI - Sara Carver-Milne, an assistant coach for the Bears last year, has been promoted to head gymnastics coach at Brown University.

Carver-Milne came to Brown in 2001 as an assistant coach for the Bears. A gymnast for 18 years, Carver-Milne competed on the Texas High School National Team and earned a four-year scholarship to the University of Alaska-Anchorage. While at Alaska, Carver-Milne competed at NCAA Nationals and also earned Academic All-American honors.

Prior to starting at Brown, Carver-Milne coached a high school girls' gymnastics team and also coached an elite-level private club team in Texas. A 1997 graduate of Alaska-Anchorage, Carver-Milne earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Public Communications. She is also a certified gymnastics judge.

In addition to her duties at Brown, Carver-Milne is a volunteer at the American Heart Association. Carver-Milne takes over for Tom Miller, who resigned in May.
