Sixth-Seeded Bears Take Third at ECAC Championships

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The women's gymnastics team, seeded sixth going into the six-team ECAC Championship field scored a 191.225 en route to a third place finish in the 2004 ECAC Gymnastics Championship. Host Pennsylvania won the Championship with a 193.650, followed by Cornell in second with a 192.425. Yale finished in fourth with a 191.050, while James Madison (189.910) and William & Mary (189.875) rounded out the competition.
Senior Jayne Finst (Delray Beach, FL), who was named the 2004 ECAC Gymnast of the Year, led Brown with two first place finishes. She won the all-around with a 39.125 and took first in the beam competition with a 9.9. Finst was also Brown's top competitor on the floor, scoring a 9.85, good for sixth place overall.
In addition to Finst earning Gymnast of the Year honors, head coach Sara Carver-Milne was named ECAC Coach of the Year.
