Bridgeport, CT - The gymnastics team (6-3) cruised past Bridgeport and Rhode Island College in this evening's tri-meet, finishing with a 183.975. University of Bridgeport finished in second with a 180.900 and Rhode Island College came in third with a 171.875.
On the vault sophomore Hannah Goldstein and freshman Rachel Foodman both turned in a 9.350 score for the Bears top finish, placing second. Anderson was Brown's next top finisher, placing fourth with a 9.300.
On the bars, senior Sarah Cavett finished second with a 9.375 as the Bears won the event with a 45.800 team score. Also placing for Brown was Anderson and senior Jess McNell who finished fourth and fifth with 9.250 and 9.225 respectively.
Brown dominated both the beam and floor recording a 45.125 on the beam and 46.850 team score on the floor exercise. Smith led the Bears in both events, tallying a 9.200 on the beam for a third place finish,
On the floor, Brown went 1-2-3-4, as Smith turned in the best score in the event a 9.5, which also was the Bear's top mark in the meet. Anderson was right behind Smith, posting a 9.425 while senior Jessica Pouchet and Foodman rounding out the top finishers recording 9.375 and 9.350 respectively.
The Bears will gear up for the Ivy Classics, which will be held at the Pizzitola Center on Sunday, February 26 at 1:00 p.m. Brown will face Cornell, Penn and Yale, as the Bulldogs will try to defend their title taking the Classic last year.
