New Haven, CT - The gymnastics team dropped their Ivy League Opener to Yale 184.15 to the Bulldog's 191.25 this afternoon in New Haven, CT.
Junior Amber Smith (Fort Myers, FL) placed second in the all around turning in a 37.675 performance for the Bears. On the vault Smith placed fourth with a 9.425 while senior Melissa Forziat (Garden City NY) turned in a 9.3 for a seventh place finish.
In bars Smith was Brown's top finisher taking sixth with a 9.275 mark. Coming in eight for the Bears was junior Jessica Pouchet (Miami, FL) who earned a 9.25 in the event.
Forziat had her highest finish of the day on the beam placing second with a 9.625 mark. Smith turned in a first place performance on the floor exercise, tumbling her way to a 9.825. Forziat finished the day with a third place finish posting a 9.75 mark in the event while sophomore Caryn Leventhal (Roslyn, NY) placed sixth with a 9.4 mark.
The Bears will return to action Saturday, February 5th when they travel to New Brunswick, NJ for a tri-meet with Rutgers, Brockport and Pittsburgh for a 1:00 start.
