Green, Hagenbuch, Hechtman, Jung to Serve Gymnastics as Captains in 2018-19

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University gymnastics rising seniors Julia Green, Morgan Hagenbuch, Gabrielle Hechtman, and Cassidy Jung will serve the Bears as captains during the 2018-19 academic year, Brown head coach Sara Carver-Milne announced on Monday.

A native of Exton, Pa., Green garnered Second Team USAG All-America on vault, Second Team All-ECAC on vault, and All-Ivy Classic on vault and floor a season ago. A two-time USAG All-America honoree, she earned the program's Most Valuable Gymnast award in 2018.

Hagenbuch, a native of Norwich, N.Y., has earned ECAC All-Academic Team accolades in all three years. She has primarily competed for the Bears on floor and holds career highs of 9.675 on floor, 9.650 on beam, and 9.550 on vault.

A native of Bellmore, N.Y., Hechtman gained Second Team All-Ivy Classic on vault last winter and earned the team's Bruno Award. As a freshman, she collected First Team All-ECAC on vault and First Team All-Ivy Classic on floor, while capturing the team's Rookie of the Year award.

Jung, a resident of San Marino, Calif., captured All-ECAC on beam last season and scored a career-high 9.825 on beam at the ECAC Championship. She gained the program's Most Improved award in 2018 and also earned All-ECAC on beam in 2017.

Last winter, the quartet helped the Bears earn bronze at the ECAC Championship and make their sixth straight team appearance at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships.
