PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University gymnastics will host three home meets, including the Ivy Classic and its Beauty and the Beast Meet with Brown wrestling, as part of its 2018 schedule, head coach Sara Carver-Milne announced on Thursday.
Other highlights from the Bears' 2018 schedule include trips to the states of Maryland and North Carolina, the annual ECAC Championship, and the opportunity to compete at the USAG Collegiate National Championships in Texas.
Brown opens its 2018 slate at Rhode Island College with Brockport on Jan. 14 before competing at Bridgeport on Jan. 21. The Bears close the month of January at Springfield with Brockport and Southern Connecticut on Jan. 27.
The Bears' gymnastics and wrestling programs will partner to host a Beauty and the Beast meet for the fourth straight year as gymnastics welcomes Bridgeport and RIC on Feb. 4 in its first home meet of the year.
Making a pair trips outside the Northeast, Brown will perform at Maryland with Rutgers and William & Mary on Feb. 11, at North Carolina State with Michigan and North Carolina on Feb. 17, and at North Carolina on Feb. 19.
Returning home to the Pizzitola Sports Center, the Bears will host the annual Ivy Classic on Feb. 25, squaring off with Cornell, Penn, and Yale. The team remains at home to entertain Bridgeport, Brockport, and Southern Connecticut on Mar. 4.
The Bears close the regular season at New Hampshire with Kentucky and Yale on Mar. 11 and at Bridgeport with Centenary and Yale on Mar. 17.
Brown's postseason begins with the ECAC Championship at Penn on Mar. 24. Pending qualification, the Bears will aim to compete at the NCAA Regional Championships at Penn State on Apr. 7 and at the USAG Collegiate National Championships at Texas Woman's University from Apr. 13-15.
