Providence, RI- Brown University freshmen Emily Lutfey and Julia
Meyer earned ECAC honors after stellar performances at the
University of Alaska Anchorage over the weekend. Lutfey received
Rookie of the Week honors, while Meyer was named the ECAC
Specialist of the Week.
While competing against the Seawolves, Lutfey earned career-highs on the bars and the beam, as well as in the all-around competition, which earned her first place in the meet with a 38.400. Her bar routine earned her a 9.550, while her beam routine was good for a 9.700. Lutfey also helped lead the Bears to its season high in the team total, a 189.325.
Meyer, the ECAC’s Specialist of the Week, earned personal bests on both her events over the weekend. She won both of her events and was solid for the Bears earning a 9.800 on the bars and a 9.725 on the beam.
The Bears are back in action this weekend when it hosts the Ivy Classic! Joining Brown will be Cornell, Penn and Yale.
