Women's Golfers Win Lady Eagle Spring Invitational

The Brown women's golf team opened their 2002 Spring season with a first place finish at the Florida Gulf Coast University Lady Eagle Spring Invitational, placed at the Miromar Club in Bonita Spring, Florida.
Brown carded a two-day 645 (321, 324) to outdistance the field by six shots. Junior Tara Fiscella led the Bears and tied for first place after carding 74-80-154. She lost in a playoff for the individual title.
Sophomore Elizabeth Carpenter, last year's female Athlete of the Year at Brown, placed third overall, just one shot in back of Fiscella, carding 82-73-155. Freshman Jennifer Bley was 15th overall with a two-day 168 (83-85).
Senior Rebekah Alfond shot 86-86-172 to finish 21st overall, while freshman Amy Behrman came in at 173 (82-91), placing 26th overall.
