Head coach Atilio Tass and the Bears look to improve on impressive 13th-place finish last season as the squad boasts a fencer in each of the six events at this year's tournament.

The Bears have enjoyed one of the best season's in program history with a record-setting number of NCAA qualifiers. The Brown women won the Northeast Fencing Conference (NFC), while the men finished second in the NFC. The team also won the NFC combined title.

Juniors Cory Abbe (Scappoose, Ore.), Kelly McGuire (ParkCity, Utah) and Teddy Weller (Barrington, R.I.) will be joined by sophomore Kathryn Hawrot (Barrington, R.I.) and rookies Christine Whalen (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) and Barrett Weiss (Barrington, R.I.) after all six qualified at the Regional Championships at Boston College.
