REHOBOTH, Mass. – Brown University equestrian tallied four blue ribbons and six top-three performances overall as the Bears finished fourth as a team at the Johnson & Wales University IHSA Show on Saturday at the JWU Equine Center.
In the team's penultimate show of the fall, sophomore Hannah Guevara (Pasadena, Calif.), junior Yinan Liu (Shanghai, China), sophomore Dominique Carlo (Dorado, Puerto Rico), and sophomore Sophie Starck (New York, N.Y.) all earned first-place finishes.
Senior captain Victoria Flagg (Great Falls, Va.) placed fourth in both open fences and open flat while fellow senior captain Sara Nordstrom (Medina, Wash.) came in fourth in open flat and fifth in open fences.
In intermediate fences, senior Anna Seto (Barrington, R.I.) placed third, and in intermediate flat, Guevara won blue to point out of the division, and freshman Hannah Woolley (Medfield, Mass.) came in fourth.
Sophomore Renee Seto (Barrington, R.I.) posted a second-place finish in novice flat while junior captain Wallace Douglas (Ipswich, Mass.) followed her with a sixth-place showing. Senior Madison Kuhn (Lancaster, Pa.) came in fourth in novice fences.
Liu garnered blue in walk-trot-canter while both Carlo and Starck registered first-place performances in their respective classes in walk-trot.
Next, Brown concludes its fall season tomorrow, Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Assumption IHSA Show at Four Winds Farm in Oxford, Mass.
