Equestrian Places First at Roger Williams Show for Back-to-Back Wins

TIVERTON, R.I. – Senior Anna Seto won a pair of blue ribbons to lead Brown University equestrian to a first-place team finish at the Roger Williams University IHSA Show at Nora Harris Equestrian on Saturday.

The win gave Brown back-to-back team victories to open the year after the Bears captured the Becker IHSA Show on Oct. 14 in their season opener.

Seto (Barrington, R.I.) took home two first-place showings on the day while her younger sister, sophomore Renee Seto (Barrington, R.I.), also captured a blue ribbon.

As a team, Brown tallied 41 points to win the show.

Senior captain Sara Nordstrom (Medina, Wash.) started the day with a second-place finish in open fences before Anna Seto came in first in intermediate fences.

In open flat, senior captain Victoria Flagg (Great Falls, Va.) and Nordstrom placed fourth and fifth respectively. Sophomore Hannah Guevara (Pasadena, Calif.) came in third in intermediate flat.

Anna Seto garnered her second blue ribbon on the day, winning her class in novice flat while senior Elizabeth Rao (Andover, Mass.) came in sixth in her class. In novice fences, senior Caroline Marks (Seattle, Wash.) posted a third-place performance.

In walk-trot-canter, Renee Seto and sophomore Cate Marchetti (Hanover, Mass.) finished first and second respectively. 

Next, Brown competes at the UMass Dartmouth IHSA Show on Saturday, Oct. 28 at New Claddagh Farm in Tiverton, R.I.
